Abstract

Results The meso diester substrates 1-7, and the racemic lactones (*)-15-19 required as ee reference standards, were prepared by unexceptional methods. The viability of 1-7 as PLE substrates was established by measuring their rates of hydrolysis relative to that of ethyl butyrate.
