Abstract
Oxazoles are widespread structural units in natural products of various sources, synthetic intermediates, and pharmaceuticals. 1–3 Most remarkably, many macrocyclic compounds from bacteria or of marine origin with oxazole units display significant cytotoxic, antitubuline and antitumor activity. 4 But also simple structures such as oxazolyl acetic acid and their (hetero)aromatic derivatives have proven to be antipyretic and antihyperglycemic. 5 Among several oxazole syntheses ...
