Abstract
The kinetics of the reduction of sodium anthraquinone &sulfonate by titanous ion have been investigated spectroscopically. In general, the rate-law for the production of the hydroquinone was found to be of the form: d (R)/dt=(Ti* II)[h (T) V:(R) l/2+ k?(T)(R)+ K~(T)*/~(R)'/:] where T and R represent the quinone and hydroquinone, respectively.
