Abstract
The decomposition of azo-bis-isobutyronitrile or azo-bis-diethylacetonitrile in toluene containing chl3ranil leads to the production of the monobenzyl ether of tetrachlorohydroquinone in addition to the mono-and dicyanoalkyl ethers derived from the azonitrile.
