Abstract

Reactions of [Au (C-acac)(carbene)][carbene= C (NEt2) NHtBu], obtained from [AuCl (carbene)] and Tl (acac)], with protic acids, such as 2-pyridinethiol (HX) or C6H4 (C⋮ CH) 2- 1, 3 (H2Y), or with phosphonium, sulfoxonium, or ammonium salts [HZ]+ give complexes [AuX (carbene)],[{Au (carbene)} 2 (μ-Y)], or [Au (carbene)(Z)]+, respectively.
