Abstract

Summary Alcoholysis of $ Si-H bond is heterogeneously catalysed by salts. The reaction is highly selective and by choice of conditions, it is possible to prepare mono-, di-or tri- alkoxysilanes. A mechanism involving coordination of the salt anions to the silanes is proposed.
