Abstract

A better method for preparing the phenazasilines was reported soon after by Gilman and Zuech. a How-ever, the key intermediate, 2, 2'-dibromodiphenylamine was obtained by a sophisticated but lengthy synthesis using the Chapman rearrangement. 4 The new synthesis developed in our laboratory is shown in Scheme I which represents a simpler scheme
