Abstract

4a, n= 2 b, n= 3 angiotensin converting enzyme (dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase, EC 3.4. 15.1) that has become established as an agent useful for the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure. 2 A significant incidence of side effects is associated with captopril therapy, 2 and, consequently, it seemed desirable to prepare more potent inhibitors that might offer a greater therapeutic ratio.
