Abstract
Although reagent 1 has been used in our labs on numerous occasions without incident, we have experienced several instances in which isolated samples of hydroperoxide underwent rapid and exothermic decomposition following room temperature removal of solvent in vacuo. g We therefore sought an alternative reagent with less hazard potential.
