Abstract

Abstract A facile synthesis of α-diazo-β-hydroxy ketones and esters by the condensation of aldehydes or ketones with acyldiazomethanes was reported recently. 2 Exposure of the trifunctional compounds to boron trifluoride in ether-acetonitrile solution leads to acylacetylenes.
