Abstract

Abstract: Deltic acid (dihydroxycyclopropenone, 5) has been prepared by reaction of 1- butanol and bis (trimethylsi1oxy) cyclo-propenone (9), which was obtained by photolytic decarbonylation of bis (trimethylsiloxy) cyclobutenedione. Dilithium del tate (lb) has also been synthesized from 9 and lithium tert-butoxide. The structure of 5 was established by its conversion to dimethoxycyclopropenone, and lb was identified by protonation to 5. The ...
