Abstract

Despite their significant polar character, some organic ethers such as diethyl ether were found to be miscible with perfluorocarbon solvents. Solubilities of various ethers in perfluorocarbons and miscibility temperatures were determined. These properties were found to be greatly dependent on the polarity but also size and shape of the ether molecule.
