Abstract
CeHs Experimental Reagents.-Anthrone, prepared from anthraquinone,S was reduced to anthracene according to Martin's direc- tions.6 The anthracene crystallized as plates which melted at 216-216.5" (corr.) and which showed a deep purple fluorescence. Commercial dioxane was purified according to the directions of Scatchard and Benedict,' bp 100.5-101 (corr.). Bromine was purified as before.'
