Abstract In this paper we describe the synthesis of amino-and bis (bromomethyl)-substituted derivatives of phenanthroline (phen), pyrazino [2, 3-f]-phenanthroline (pphen), dipyrido [3, 2- a: 2′, 3′-c] phenazine (dppz), pyrazino [2, 3-i] dipyrido [3, 2-a: 2′, 3′-c] phenazine, 2, 3- bis (2-pyridyl) pyrazine (dpp), 2, 3-bis (2-pyridyl) quinoxaline (dpq) and 7, 8-bis (2-pyridyl) pyrazino [2, 3-g] quinoxaline.
