Abstract

Synthetic concepts toward the synthesis of large, not-fully benzenoid polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), decorated with phase-forming and solubilizing n-dodecyl chains, are presented based on the intramolecular cyclodehydrogenation reaction of suitable oligophenylene precursors.
