Abstract
Seragakinone A (1), an antifungal and antibacterial compound, is produced by an unidentified marine fungus that is in symbiosis with rhodophyta Ceratodictyon spongiosum and was collected at Seragaki beach, Okinawa.[1] The intriguing structure of 1 features a densely oxygenated pentacyclic core having an angular prenyl substituent, and it was determined by using extensive spectroscopic studies and single-crystal X-ray analysis; ...
