Abstract
More than a billion pounds a year of polyurethanes are sold annually in the US., and they are used in applications in foams, coatings, adhesives, plastics, and fibers. The most important route for the synthesis of these materials utilizes phosgene/isocyanate technology, eq. 1 and 2.2
