Abstract
Abstract Pentaaryl-substituted cyclopentadienes and cyclopentenes have been employed in catalytic hydrogenation and photochemical cyclodehydrogenation reactions, targeting strained bowl-shaped structures. Both types of reactions generally stop at the monohydrogenation and monocyclization stage, respectively.
