Abstract

Herein, we report a simple and highly efficient method for the selective reduction of the C C bond in allylic alcohols, based on a novel ruthenium-catalyzed tandem process (Scheme 1). This one-pot transformation involves the initial isomerization of the allylic alcohol and subsequent transfer hydrogenation (TH) of the resulting carbonyl compound.
