Abstract
Ammonium molybdate [Mo (VI)] is operationally simple, environmentally safe and inexpensive reagent. Regioselective nitration of anilides, non-activated and moderately activated aromatic compounds could be afforded by employing ammonium molybdate and nitric acid as mild and effective nitrating agent.
