Abstract
926 DAVID'r. MOWRY AND ALFRED G. ROSSOW Vol. 67 manner, nor the thallous valerate prepared by RK Abbott from other valeric acid, had a deiinite melting point. Accordingly the salt was heated with#-bromophenacyl bromide to give the corresponding ester (mp 67.5- 69.5"), which was identified by comparison with an authentic specimen.
