Abstract

/' C6H6 valent carbon are aryl groups. However, the third valence carries a radical containing two phenyl groups. Schlenk and Mark4 have prepared pentaphenylethyl. Ziegler and Ochs6 have discovered a series of the general type (Ar) 2-C-CH= C (CaH& which exist entirely in the monomolecular state. More recently he has shown that sym.-tetraphenyl- dicyclohexyl-ethanes dissociates to some extent since it forms a peroxide with oxygen. ...
