Abstract
Highlights ► Equations for the rates of oxidation of VRSCs in biotrickling filters are proposed. ► Simulations considering the equations have a good agreement with experimental results. ► H2S and MM have an inhibitory effect on the bio-oxidation of DMS and DMDS. ► The inhibitory effect of H2S over the oxidation of DMS and DMDS is greater than MM. ► It is possible to predict the RE of VRSCs along the biofilter with the model proposed.
