Abstract

The nitrile group is an important functional group in organic synthesis.[1] Therefore, the development of newer methods for the synthesis of nitriles is of significant interest among organic chemists.[2] Typical methods for the synthesis of nitriles include the cyanation of halides,[3, 4] the Sandmeyer reaction (for aromatic nitriles),[5] dehydration of aryl oximes,[6] and other methods.[7–11] Although some of these methods are attractive, they suffer from ...
