Eleven cyclic diarylheptanoids and seven related compounds were screened as potential antitumor promoters by using the in vitro short-term 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA)-induced Epstein–Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) activation assay.
