Abstract
-9 (R= H) 10-recovered in 26% yield in the form of the corresponding ketone. In addition, an insoluble yellow solid assigned oligomeric structure 10l2 could be separated by filtration. In sharp contrast, an analogous reduction of thioketone 5 in the presence of monodentate phenylmercuric trifluoroacetate (1.
