Abstract
The chemistry of substituted pyrroles is a challenging field that often relies on traditional reactions using harsh conditions, eg. very high temperatures for extended periods of time, or highly acidic/caustic conditions. Many reactions for the synthesis (or functional group interconversion) of pyrroles were first introduced several decades ago, with little refinement having been reported since then.
