Abstract Cationic rhodium (I) complexes with P, O-functionalised arylphosphine ligands are efficient catalysts for the regioselective anti-Markovnikov oxidative amination of styrene with piperidine. The mechanism of the catalytic reaction has been investigated by spectroscopic means under stoichiometric and catalytic conditions.
