Abstract
All of the 5-alkyl-N-benzyldichloroacetamides in Table I1 as well as the monochloroacetamides and trichloroacetamides listed in Table I11 were prepared by acylation of the appropriate N-alkylbenzylamine with monochloroacetyl, dichloroacetyl and trichloroacetyl chloride in the presence of dilute sodium hydroxide solution.
