Abstract

Highlights ► Serum total and LDL-cholesterol levels were influenced by the dietary carotenoid. ► Intake of PSC beneficially affected the hepatic ascorbic content and lipid peroxides. ► Glutathione transferase and catalase activities are enhanced in PSC treated rats. ► Study opens up a new research on antioxidant, hypocholesterolemic properties of PSC.
