Abstract

Research highlights ► C-peptide fragment interactions with insulin involve the N-terminal part with Glu11. ► Insulin-interacting and membrane-interacting segments of C-peptide are different. ► Oligomerization of C-peptide involves yet different and additional segments. ► Oligomeric insulin is likely the form binding C-peptide.
