Abstract

The linear equations given here predict the midpoints of the boiling point ranges with a maximum error of 1.8%. An interesting empirical relationship between the density and refractive index was developed and may be of some utility in enabling one to predict fairly accurately the density of an alkyl tetralin by measurement of the refractive index.
