Abstract
In order to know the reactivity of other lanthanoid metals, 1-chloro-2-iodobenzene was allowed to react with various lanthanoid metals in the presence of excess amount of furan (30 equiv.) at 25°C for 4 h, and these results are shown in Table 1. Although the use of Ce, Pr, Nd, and Yb led to the formation of 2, the yield was decreased.
