Abstract Glycine is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter and recent studies have shown that certain lipophilic glycine derivatives demonstrate anticonvulsant activity in animal epilepsy models. On the other hand, anilide is another fruitful structure for designing potential anticonvulsant agents.
