Abstract
Novel organic dyes (MK dyes) based on carazole and oligo-hexylthiophene moieties were designed and synthesized for application in dye-sensitized solar cells. The photovoltaic performance of solar cells based on MK dyes markedly depends on the number of thiophene rings as well as on the number and position of their n-hexyl chains.
