Abstract
In an effort to confirm the structure of'2-(1-naphthyl)-cyclohexanone, I, required in another investigation, this compound was dehydrogenated with palladium-on-charcoal in the liquid phase in an attempt to obtain the known l-phenylnaphthalene. The benzene solution of the product from the reaction fluoresced in ordinary light and showed a brilliant blue fluorescence in ultraviolet light.
