Abstract
Evidence bearing on the lability of ring hydrogens in cyclopropyl ketones and esters is discussed. It is shown that cyclopropyl phenyl ketone, with sodamide or sodium triphenylmethyl as condensing agent, undergoes normal replacement of the a-hydrogen atoms in benzylation and carbethoxylation.
