Abstract

The reaction of 2-benzoylamino-2-methylpropionamidine (III) with 1, 3-bifunctional compounds was investigated in connection with studies on 2-benzoylaminoacetamidine (I). In case of the reaction of III an appreciable amount of 5, 5-dimethyl-2-phenylimidazolin-4- imide (VIII) was formed, the yield of 2-(1-benzoylamino-1-methylethyl)-4, 6- dimethylpyrimidine (VI) being low.
