Abstract

The preparation and properties of a number of 2-(p-dialkylaminostyry1)-quinolines have been de-scribed recently2; we now present a study of some of the 4-(9-dialkylaminostyryl) derivatives. Since the methyl group at position 4 is less reactive3 than that at position 2, the modification of Brahmachari's method previously described2 could not be applied to the preparation of the substituted 4-styryl derivatives.
