Abstract
Mischmetall, an alloy of the light lanthanides, has been used in a variety of organic reactions, either as a coreductant in samarium (II)-mediated reactions (Barbier and Grignard- type reactions, pinacolic coupling reactions) or as the promoter of Reformatsky-type reactions.
