Abstract

The effect of the m and p-Me, Si group upon the ionization constants of anilines, dimethylanilines, phenols and benzoic acids has been studied and the Hammett U-values determined. These data indicate that the m-MerSi group exerts mainly an electron-releasing inductive effect in all these reactions.
