Abstract

13.1 g. (50 mmoles) of triphenylphosphine in 90 ml. of methylene chloride at -65'. When oxidation was com- plete, excess ozone in the solution and on the silica gel column was swept into potassium iodide traps. The total ozone consumed oxidizing the phosphine was 32.3 mmoles.
