用途二:用作农药、染料中间体及溶剂抗氧剂等
用途三:主要用作苯代三聚氰胺等高级涂料的中间体,也是合成农药、脂肪族胺、苯甲酸的中间体,并可作为腈基橡胶、树脂、聚合物和涂料等的溶剂。苄腈衍生的系列中间体主要是:苄基胺、苯甲酰胺、硫代苯甲酰胺、卤代酰亚胺、亚胺酸酯、硫代亚胺酸酯、偕胺肟、肼等等。

苯甲腈制备
1.由苯酚亚硝酸钠及硫酸进行亚硝化,制得对亚硝苯酚,与溶解在硫酸中的邻甲苯胺进行缩合,再用具有一定硫反映数的多硫化钠进行还原和硫化,而后通代气氧化,最后经过滤、干燥、粉碎及标准化处理而制得产品。
2.用苯甲醛与羟氨邻磺酸反应生成羟氨磺酸盐,该盐再与碱作用转化为苄腈。
精制方法:常含有苯及苯甲酸等杂质。精制时先将粗制品用水蒸气蒸馏,馏出物分去水层,有机层用碳酸钠水溶液洗涤,再溶于乙醚中用水洗涤,氯化钙干燥,蒸去乙醚后减压分馏。杂质含量少的苄腈可用硫酸钙或氢化钙干燥数日后,在五氧化二磷存在下,反复蒸馏2~3次。
3.可由甲苯经氨氧化,或由苯甲酸铵经干馏而制得。
