精制方法：蒸馏2次，与稍过量的盐酸一同加热，生成盐酸盐，再于乙醇中重结晶5次，蒸馏水中重结晶3次，每次必须将最初析出的部分弃去。用稀碳酸钠溶液处理，所得游离的间甲苯胺在减压下蒸馏3次得纯品。
