化合物2,3,4,6-四-O-乙酰基-β-D-吡喃葡萄糖异硫氰酸酯1是一个用于光学纯度测定的高效液相色谱标记试剂，具有一个糖基和异硫氢基，很容易与氨基反应形成相对应的硫脲。由此产生的硫脲很稳定，在反相高效液相色潽法中不需要分解作用就可以进行检测标记。在254nm处检测得到一个很好的色谱图层，吸收波长通常用于紫外检测。此外，化合物2,3,4,6-四-O-乙酰基-β-D-吡喃葡萄糖异硫氰酸酯1和外消旋胺反应生成非对应异构体，可以很有效的进行反相高效液相色谱分离。

应用实例：

【氨基酸类】¹^）

5mg氨基酸溶解于50%(V/V)乙腈水溶液，加入0.4%(W/V)三乙胺至10ml的量；50μl的此溶液，50μl 0.2%(W/V) 2,3,4,6-四-O-乙酰基-β-D-吡喃葡萄糖异硫氰酸酯标记试剂，加入乙腈溶液。混合溶液室温下摇晃30分钟，可以用作高效液相色谱法样品。
