1.将25g BaCl2·2H2O溶于70mL水中,再向其中加入30% H2SiF6,直到BaSiF6完全沉淀出来。过滤,用水反复洗涤,直到无氯离子。加热至110~120℃进行干燥,再放入装有P2O5的干燥器中干燥。将制得的BaSiF6用图所示装置使其热分解。

将BaSiF6放入反应管内,一边进行真空脱水,一边升温至200℃,使其完全干燥。将第一接收器放入干冰丙酮中,接收生成的杂质氟硅酸及氟化氢等。当温度升至300℃,就开始产生四氟化硅,在插入液氮中的第二接收器中接收。继续升温至500℃,就转为激烈的热分解,于是可得到白色固体四氟化硅。收率为75%,纯度在98%以上。
2.将25g粉碎的硅胶(含有37.5%水)放入250mL烧瓶中,烧瓶上装有搅拌器、滴液漏斗、疏松填装玻璃棉的回流冷凝器。把烧瓶的温度升到100℃,在45min内,缓慢滴加100g氟代磺酸。由于立即有气体产生,所以首先使之通过浸没在干冰-丙酮中的捕集器。在此除去混入的氟代磺酸,然后在用液氮冷却的捕集器中捕集。当气体不再产生以后,仍要在100℃保持2h。收率84%,可得到21.8g四氟化硅。在氟化钙和石英砂的混合物中加入浓硫酸使之反应的方法也可制得四氟化硅。但因混入了许多氟化氢和氟硅酸,所以并不理想。
