DL-泛内酯可被尖孢镰刀菌的乳糖水解酶水解为泛油酸。DL-泛内酯也可用于制备3,5-二硝基苯甲酰基-DL-泛内酯[1][2]。

【方法一】
由异丁醛制得2,2-二甲基-3-羟基丙醛后，与氰化钠加成，再经水解酸化、内酯化而得。将2,2-二甲基-3-羟基丙醛溶解于水，投入反应锅，再投入氰化钠水溶液及氯化钙水溶液。搅匀后加入50%的硫酸溶液。反应产生剧毒的氰化氢尾气，用硫酸亚铁溶液吸收。于60-65℃反应6h后，升温至80-85℃反应3h，减压浓缩，加95%乙醇使无机盐沉淀。过滤，滤液减压回收乙醇后进行分馏，收集130-145℃（1.33-2.44kPa）馏分，得DL-泛酰内酯。
