将精制短棉绒干燥后，经醋酸活化，再在醋酸催化剂存在下，与10倍于精制短棉绒的醋酸和醋酐混合液进行酯化反应，使之乙酸化，然后加稀醋酸水解到2.8~2.9。中和催化剂，使产物深沉析出，经脱酸洗淀、精煮、干燥可得。
