General: Apixab is a potent, orally active, reversible, direct, and highly selective factor Xa active site inhibitor with antithrombotic activity. It inhibits free and thrombus-bound factor Xa and inhibits prothrombin activity. Apixab is an anticoagulant used to prevent venous thromboembolism and atrial fibrillation stroke. It is a direct factor Xa inhibitor. Apixab can be used for antithrombotic therapy in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of atrial fibrillation.
