A series of dialkyl N,”-(m-pheny1ene) dioxamates was synthesized by treatment of the requisite m-phenylenediamines with an alkyloxalyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine, Hydrolysis with sodium hydroxide solution gave the corresponding N, N'-(mpheny1ene) dioxamic acids.
